FAQ

How many hours of event photography do I need?

That really depends on your event.

Some events only need a couple of hours of coverage, while others benefit from photography throughout the entire evening. We can look at your schedule and determine which portions of the event are most important to capture.


What if you're not sure how much coverage you need?


That's completely fine.

Send me your event schedule and tell me what's most important to you. I'll help you figure out how much coverage makes sense rather than automatically recommending more hours than you need.

Do you photograph candid moments?

Absolutely. In fact, candid photographs are one of my favourite parts of event coverage.

I'll capture the conversations, reactions, laughter, connections and little moments happening throughout the event without making everyone feel like they're constantly being photographed.

Do you photograph formal group photos?

Yes.

If there are executives, award recipients, speakers, sponsors, VIPs or groups that need to be photographed, I'll make sure those important photographs are covered.

For larger groups, I'll work with the event organizer to keep things organized and moving.

Can you work from a shot list?

Absolutely.

If there are specific people, sponsors, award recipients, products, groups or moments that need to be photographed, send me your shot list ahead of time.

I'll use it as a guide while still leaving room for the unexpected moments that happen naturally during an event.


Do we need to provide a schedule?

A schedule is very helpful.

It allows me to know when important moments are happening and make sure I'm in the right place at the right time. You don't need to create anything complicated. Your event itinerary is usually enough.


Can I get a few photographs quickly after the event?

Yes.

If you need a handful of photographs for social media, press or marketing shortly after your event, let me know ahead of time.

Selected images can often be turned around within approximately 2–3 days, while the full event gallery is typically delivered within about one week.


How long does it take to receive the full event gallery?

My typical event photography turnaround is approximately one week.

Larger events or projects with additional editing requirements may take longer, but I'll always give you an expected delivery timeline.


How will we receive our event photographs?

Your finished photographs are delivered through a private online gallery where you can view and download the images.

The gallery makes it easy to share the photographs with your team, organization or event participants.


How many photographs will we receive?

There isn't a fixed number because every event is different.

The number of final photographs depends on the length of coverage, number of guests, schedule and what happens throughout the event. My focus is on delivering a strong, varied collection rather than trying to hit an arbitrary number of images.

How far in advance should I book an event photographer?

As early as possible is always best, especially for popular dates and busy event seasons.

That said, last-minute events do happen. If you have an event coming up soon, get in touch and I'll let you know if I'm available.


What information do you need when I inquire?

A few basics are helpful:

• Event date

• Location

• Type of event

• Approximate number of guests

• Start and end times

• What you'd like photographed

• Any important moments or people that need to be covered

• Your desired delivery timeline


You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can work through the details together.


Do you travel for events?

Yes. I regularly photograph events throughout Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Toronto, Oakville and surrounding Ontario communities.

Travel outside the local area can be arranged and may involve an additional travel fee.
