FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY
The moments you’ll want back someday.
The images that grow in value over time.
Family sessions are centred around connection, capturing the subtle,
in-between moments that often go unnoticed, yet mean the most.
With a relaxed and minimal approach, I create space for genuine interaction and real emotion to unfold.
LIMITED mini SESSIONS
Occasionally, something special comes together.
I offer a limited number of mini sessions when the timing, season, or creative idea feels right. Dates are spontaneous and availability is limited. Follow along on Instagram or subscribe below to stay informed.

FAQ
What happens during a family photography session?
Think of it less like a formal photo shoot and more like spending time together while I document it. I’ll give you some direction when you need it, but I also leave plenty of room for the natural interactions, laughs and little moments that make your family yours.
Where do family sessions take place?
Family sessions can take place outdoors, at your home, or at another location that feels meaningful to your family. I photograph families throughout Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas.
What should we wear?
The goal is to coordinate rather than match. Neutral, earthy and timeless colours photograph beautifully, but most importantly, choose clothing that feels like you and that everyone is comfortable wearing.
If you’re unsure, I’m happy to help with outfit ideas before your session.
What time of day is best for family photos?
I generally recommend working around the best natural light, especially early morning or later in the day. The exact timing depends on the location, season and the look we're going for.
What if my kids don't cooperate?
That's completely normal. Kids don't always follow the plan, and honestly, that's part of the fun. We can take breaks, change things up, let them run around or simply follow their lead for a while.
There’s no pressure for everyone to be perfectly behaved or looking at the camera in every photo.
What if my child is shy?
Give them a little time. I won’t expect them to immediately smile at a stranger with a camera. I’ll spend some time getting to know them and let their personality come through naturally.
Do we have to pose the whole time?
Not at all! I’ll guide you through a few classic family portraits, but I don’t want every photo to feel posed. Some of the best images happen when you’re walking, playing, cuddling, laughing or simply interacting with each other.
Can we include grandparents or extended family?
Absolutely! If you'd like to include grandparents, siblings, cousins or other family members, just let me know when you inquire.
Additional family members can be added to a regular family session for $25 per person. For larger extended-family groups, I'll put together a custom quote based on the number of people, group combinations and time needed.
Larger sessions can include a mix of the full group, individual family units and smaller combinations, so everyone gets their moment in front of the camera.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely! If your dog is part of the family, they’re welcome to join in. Just let me know ahead of time so we can choose a location that works well for everyone.
How many photos will we receive?
That depends on the type of session and the final gallery, but I focus on delivering a thoughtfully edited collection of images rather than overwhelming you with hundreds of nearly identical photographs. But on average, for a full session, you will receive around 50-60 photos.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
Your finished gallery will be delivered in about 3-4 weeks.
What happens if it rains?
We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and make a plan together. Sometimes cloudy weather creates gorgeous, soft light, but if the weather isn't cooperating, we can reschedule when possible.
How far do you travel for family sessions?
I photograph families throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas, including Cambridge, Guelph Toronto. If you have a special location in mind, please let me know!
When should we book our family session?
It's always a good idea to book ahead, especially for popular seasons like fall. If you have a specific date, location or occasion in mind, reach out early and we'll see what we can arrange.
