What are Pure Portraits?

Pure Portraits is a signature portrait experience created to capture children and teens in a simple, timeless and editorial way.

The focus is on personality, expression and individuality. The photographs are primarily created in black and white, allowing the person in front of the camera to be the focus.


How long is a session?

Each session is approximately 15 minutes.

What ages are Pure Portraits for?

Pure Portraits are designed primarily for children and teens, from young children through the teenage years.

Every age brings something different to the camera, and the goal is to capture who your child is right now because that version of them won't last forever.


What should my child wear?

Simple, plain and timeless clothing works best.

I generally recommend avoiding large logos, busy graphics and distracting patterns so that nothing distracts from their expressions and natural personality.

Before the photos start make sure your child's face is moisturized, and clean from any smudges and crumbs.

Where can you host a Pure Portrait Party?

Portrait Parties can be hosted in a private home or another suitable location.

They can also be a great fit for businesses and child-focused organizations such as boutiques, children's businesses, studios, community spaces and other organizations looking to offer something special to their clients or community.


Do you travel for Portrait Parties?

Yes. That's one of the main benefits of a Pure Portrait Party.

Rather than everyone having to travel to a studio, I bring the portrait experience to your chosen location.

Portrait Parties are available throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding communities, with travel options available for locations farther away.


What does the host need to provide?

I'll provide the photography equipment and lighting setup.

The host generally needs to provide a suitable space with enough room for the photography setup and access to an electrical outlet.

I'll provide the specific space requirements when we plan your event.


What is the turn around time for the gallery?

Galleries are sent out approximately 3-4 weeks after the shoot.
